Our partner of the month for March is Dyce Trucking. We caught up with Tamika to chat with her about how the company got started and what keeps them trucking.
We started in 2009 in East Hartford Connecticut.
I enjoy interacting with the transportation industry, all the ins-and-outs, the people and the experiences are very rewarding. Without trucks, America stops. The transportation industry is vital to the country. Businesses like Robert’s makes it possible for businesses like ours to operate. I’m very thankful for Pay4freight who has helped us and for Robert who is always understanding, always caring, always there to assist us, He’s made it possible for us to keep running.
Getting good drivers who are punctual and reliable is always a challenge.
When I first came into the business I didn’t have a factoring company so I struggled at first to collect the invoices. Some companies didn’t pay for months and some went out of business causing a whole lot of headaches and cash flow problems. My advice is to start off getting yourself a factoring company like Pay4freight. There aren’t many good ones out there but they are one of them and they have paved the way for me to get back on track after the initial setback.
We try to work Mondays through Friday and keep the business running over the weekend. But actually, we are always talking about the business. It is what it is, you just have to embrace this.
